The Mind Body Well Eating Disorder Masterclass series offers professional development for allied health and medical professionals working with people experiencing eating disorders, body image, and weight and shape concerns. The sessions are suitable for all therapists regardless of experience, however they will assume general knowledge of eating disorder diagnosis and treatment options.
Each session has been presented by an experienced Mind Body Well therapist, exploring the topic through a Health at Every Size® lens, focussing on inclusive and respectful therapeutic approaches which are both evidence based and client centred.
The Masterclasses were conducted via Zoom and have been recorded for ongoing access. Once registered, you will have access to the recording and handouts from the session for 3 months following registration. Sessions have a practical focus for therapists working with people with Eating Disorders in the Australian treatment setting.

Cultural consideration is an important aspect of therapy for people with eating disorders. Our individual experiences of geography, religion, gender, relationship status, ethical values, and social norms all contribute to culture and have an impact on a persons perceptions and expectations regarding food, body image, and relationships. This masterclass will explore recommendations to effectively address culture in the assessment, formulation and treatment of people with an eating disorder.
This Masterclass will explore:
cultural sensitivity in the provision of eating disorder therapy
considerations when taking eating behaviour histories
the principles of inclusive, respectful care, particularly as they relate to cultural diversity
