The Mind Body Well Eating Disorder Masterclass series offers professional development for allied health and medical professionals working with people experiencing eating disorders, body image, and weight and shape concerns. The sessions are suitable for all therapists regardless of experience, however they will assume general knowledge of eating disorder diagnosis and treatment options.
Each session has been presented by an experienced Mind Body Well therapist, exploring the topic through a Health at Every Size® lens, focussing on inclusive and respectful therapeutic approaches which are both evidence based and client centred.
The Masterclasses were conducted via Zoom and have been recorded for ongoing access. Once registered, you will have access to the recording and handouts from the session for 3 months following registration. Sessions have a practical focus for therapists working with people with Eating Disorders in the Australian treatment setting.

Masterclass topic
Therapists working with people with eating concerns are required to identify, assess and appropriately respond to risk issues which may arise in therapy, some of which may be unique to this client group. These risks may be associated with medical stability, nutritional re-feeding, and suicidality and self-harm. This workshop will address strategies for responding appropriate to these risks, and also considerations about service suitability according to differing risk presentations.
This Masterclass will explore:
an awareness of potential medical and psychological risks in eating disorder therapy
strategies and processes for assessing and responding to risk in eating disorder therapy
risk management across multidisciplinary teams
considerations for inclusion and exclusion criteria for eating disorder therapy in a private practice setting
