In case you are unable to view the video, please see the written statement below
I’m Janet Lowndes, Director of Mind Body Well.
I‘m reaching out to let you know our plans for the next few weeks.
In order to do what we can to assist our clients and staff to remain well, and to help reduce the spread of Covid-19, we’ve made the decision to gradually transition our therapy services online.
For the remainder of this week we are offering our clients the choice to either continue with your face to face session, or to change to have your session online or by phone. From Monday 23rd March we wont be providing any face to face psychological or dietetic therapy until further notice. All sessions from next week will be provided either online or by telephone.
Thankfully we’re able to continue to offer a service to our clients once we go fully online, and we encourage you to prioritise your mental health and to maintain your therapy, especially now. We will be moving our online sessions to a platform called Coviu, which is a secure online portal used by medical and allied health professionals. There is no additional cost for clients to use this service, and you won’t need to download any program or app to use it. You’ll receive an email from your therapist prior to your scheduled session with a link which you simply click to access the online meeting at the time of your session, so it’s quite simple.
We’re also happy to provide phone counselling for anyone who doesn’t have internet access, just let us know and we can set that up.
Unfortunately Medicare claiming is currently not available for online therapy – unless you live in rural or remote areas, or you have been diagnosed with Covid-19, or are in medically recommended isolation, in which case you may be eligible for the new item codes Medicare has released. Just contact our office if you’d like to find out more about this.
If you’re experiencing financial hardship and are concerned about continuing your therapy without being able to claim Medicare rebates, please contact our office to discuss how we can support you. Please also keep in mind that this is a challenging time for a small business, so there will be limits to what we can provide.
In this difficult time our communities are more important than ever. My personal priority is to support the clients and staff of Mind Body Well, and to continue to provide a high level of care at a time when it’s even more necessary.
For the rest of this week if you would like to move to an online or phone session please contact our office to arrange this.
From Monday we will be emailing all clients with links for online therapy sessions. We’ll continue to be contactable by phone and email, so please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. For appointments from next week we will message you individually with the details of your online session, please look out for that message via email.
Take care, and be well.
